Scientific Name: Nimbochromis livingstoni is sometimes called Kalingo. This is an aggressive predator which needs to a large tank of 55 gallons or more. The Livingstoni is found in abundance in the muddy habitats of Lake Malawi. This fish hunts small, inexperienced cichlids by posing as a decaying cadaver. It buries itself partially in the muddy sand or lies on its side, remaining perfectly motionless. Its white color attracts small cichlids, which are caught upon approaching this deathly actor. ( check out the video below) The Males will lose there blotchy pattern for a beautiful blue mating dress. The livingstoni does well with Red Zebra Stampede and Rainbow Zebra foods, supplemented with Krill. An aquarium or cichlid salt at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons is also helpful. This cichlid on is commonly found is the Hap, and standard mixes featured on this site.
