ANGEL BLUE ATLANTIC MEDIUM Holacanthus isabelita Common Name: Blue Angel, Common Angel Description: The Blue Angel is very similar to the Queen Angel. The Blue Angel is mostly aqua in color with a yellow shimmer and yellow edges on its fins and scales. Unlike the Queen Angel, the Blue Angel does not have the striking blue crown nor does it have the blue highlights. Recommended Tank Size: The Blue Angel requires a large aquarium of about 250 gallons. The tank needs to be equipped with plenty of hiding places therefore it is okay to decorate it with live rock. Just remember that the Blue Angel needs to be able to hide and swim, as it enjoys both activities. The Blue Angel is best kept when it is the only angelfish in the tank. The temperature within the tank should be about 72 - 78 degrees Fahrenheit with a pH level of 8.1 - 8.4. Food & Diet - The Blue Angelfish is an omnivore. The diet of this particular fish should include spirulina, marine algae, high quality angelfish preparations, frozen shrimp, and other meaty items. Level of Care: Moderate Reef Compatibility: Not reef safe, nips at stony and soft corals and clam mantles.
