 Zebrasoma veliferum Common Name - Sailfin Tang, Sailfin Philippine Tang

Description - The Saifin Philippine Tang has become the most well known and easily recognizable Tangs. This fish is easily identified by its tail, pointed snout, sharp spine, dorsal and anal fins, and its color. As an adult this fish will have broad dark bands on a white background and thin yellow lines will run through the dark and light banding. The fish's head is white with a black bar through the eyes and yellow dots and lines. Finally, the fish's tail is yellow with a blue to white margin.

Recommended Tank Size - The Sailfin Philippine Tang should be kept in a tank able to hold at least 135 gallons of water. The temperature within the tank should range between 75-82 degrees Fahrenheit with a pH level of about 8.1-8.4. This tank should be very roomy, giving the fish plenty of room to swim around and not feel crowded in the tank. This tank needs to have completed the aquarium nitrogen cycle to make it safest for the fish.

Food & Diet -The Sailfin Philippine Tang is an herbivore. This fish may eat greens, pellets, and flakes. This fish is very hearty and will have a great appetite once it gets use to the aquarium setting.
