Mokelembembe Polypterus LARGE Polypterus mokelembembe Polypterus mokelembembe is a freshwater fish belonging to the family of bichirs (Polypteridae), which occurs in the central Congo basin. The species was only in 2006 described and by Mokele-Mbembe named, a mythical, sauropodenähnlichen creature in the jungles to live in Central Africa.
