DISTICHODUS SEXFASCIATUS small

Distichodus sexfasciatus - Native to middle and Lower Congo River in Democratic Republic of the Congo. Also found in Lake Tanganyika. Swim in shoals at the lower water layers of rivers and inshore areas of lake. Feeds on worms, crustaceans, insects and plant matter. These fish are semi-aggressive and tough enough to be kept with cichlids. Need a god lid as they are known jumpers. Not picky eaters will eat plants or meats and accept most types of aquarium foods. Can attain sizes of up to 12 to 15 inches in captivity.
