Mbuna is pronounced boo-nuh. It is a native African word (meaning rockfish). The natives named it when watching the mbuna forage on allege on the rocks. The mbunas are elongated fishes with a notably blunt head and sometimes chiseled mouths adapted for foraging on the rocks. They range in maximum size from four to six inches.
