Cichlids sold on this site are generally 1.5 inches to 2.25 inches in length (regular) except for Tanganyika cichlids, which are 1.25 to 1.75 inches. All of these small fish are sold as unsexed juveniles. Different sizes will be designated in the description as follows.

Small: 1 inch
Regular: 1.25 -2.25 inches
Select: 2.5 inches
Medium: 3 inches
Large: 4-6 inches

If you are stocking a new tank or a tank with cichlids under 3 inches you will be safe with small ,regular, or select sizes. If you are stocking a tank that has existing cichlids that are over 3 inches you should only choose regular, select or medium sizes.

The Maulana Bicolor Peacock, also known as the Maulana Bi-Color 500.. Aulonacara maulana is found in areas with scattered rocks on a sandy bottom, but it is limited to just Chitimba Bay. Like all other Aulonocara spp., is a mircro-predator. They subsist upon the invertebrates that dwell in the upper layers of the sand and sediment. It lies motionless over the sandy bottom, sensing micro-movements in the substrate..

I feed them the Red Zebra Stampede or Rainbow flakes or crumbles. I feed Grow Baby Grow when they are juveniles under 2 inches.
